In the Indian philosophy of the Veda the soul (Brahman, Atman) is neither a feeling nor an idea, but an unlimited field of energy and consciousness, in which we emerge, live and disappear as personal individuals. We do not have an individual soul, we are an all-comprehensive soul. As the waves in the sea are a small part of the ocean however not separate from it, then everyone of us is a singular feature and an individual expression of the life. Each creature is life and connected with its unrestrained strength on the most intimate. But nobody can check it, even if the brain wants us to make it believe. The intellect with its sciences and feelings is even an instrument of the life, not its master.
