Children and families:
(Prices for children at the end of this page)

Again and again people are enquiring whether children and families are welcome at Lotus-Villa Some people are concerned that children will disturb their own and others’ treatments. At Lotus-Villa we have had different experiences and we very much like to have children and parents. Our staff are mostly young at heart and have their own children in various age groups. They are happy to supervise children at any age during the treatments of their mother or father. This also applies to the times of rest after treatment.

It is lovely to see how children themselves want to learn, for example, when they come to visit our own school – the Peter-Huber-College – and how they are making new contacts with pupils „from another world“. Our school caters for children and young people between 3 and 16 years of age. Therefore, we are also able to have small children in our Lotus-Villa.

In case some guests or patients feel disturbed by children we will speak to them. Often, these are only trivial things and they can be sorted out quite easily so that both parties will feel again part of the „Lotus-Villa-Family“.

It happens quite often that children will start crying at the time of departure when they have developed friendly contacts with our staff and they would rather stay on at our Lotus-Villa. By the way, this also happens among our employees, too...

Ayurvedic treatment for children and young people:

Ayurvedic doctors maintain that children should not receive ayurvedic treatment until their bodies are fully developed. Normally, the minimum age is between 12 and 14 years except when children are ill and need treatment, for example for allergies, asthma, psoriasis etc.

In Ayurveda the patient’s environment is a very important aspect of the healing process. For some patients the presence of children can become an important healing factor and help to feel that one is not a „special case“ but part of the whole world.

Some Westeners think that one should feel sorry for a patient with a particular illness. Ayurveda however, believes that patients should be re-integrated into the normal daily routines as far as possible, and this is seen as an another important step of the recovery process.

Mothers and fathers:

Fathers and mothers usually enjoy the fact that they have time to relax and that they do not need to supervise their children all the time. In Asian countries the family ties are usually much stronger than in the West. Therefore, it is quite normal for our staff not just to look after their own children but also to look after children of guests and patients. Children are always very much looked after and protected – even outside normal working hours. That is one reason why children never feel bored. There is always someone to play with them – and we do not keep a TV in the house!

In the study of Ayurveda great attention is placed on birth and the process of growing up of a human being. Therefore, we at Lotus-Villa regard it as our duty to integrate children and young people in our daily lives.

Some additional information:

Families often ask for 3 rooms with connecting doors to the small room so that small children or young people can sleep next door to their parents (of course only if the young person actually wants it...).

There are also „Life-guards“ at our Lotus-Villa who like to teach children (and adults alike) how to swim. We would recommend, however, that you bring your own swimming gear since we keep only a small range in our house.

Our estate is completely fenced in and every corner is supervised by a watchman. Therefore, it is impossible that a child (or guest) will suddenly disappear unnoticed. Since we are having a few patients with walking disabilities who like to spend time on the beach our watchmen always observe very closely those who are outside the boundaries of our Lotus-Villa.

Meals for children: These menues are jointly created between parents, children and our doctors. Our kitchen can provide almost anything from „chips“ to „porridge“.

Small beds, cots and small chairs are available. in our house
