Dear friends (or better today: Dear ladies) of Lotus Villa,
There are regular discussions between the management, the doctors, and the therapists of Lotus Villa, in which we consider how we can further improve the medical offer of our house and adapt it to the needs of our guests. One result of this recently has been the fact that although Ayurvedic medicine takes into account the special role of women and the resulting needs, we have perhaps not communicated enough this important part of our therapeutic offer so far. We want to change this and explain some details that are especially important for the ladies among our guests.

The special role of women in society, but also in their physicality, plays an important role in Ayurveda. “Shakti”, “Stri” and “Dhatri” are just a few synonyms used in Ayurvedic terminology to describe the meaning of femininity at different stages of life. Their tasks as mothers, as the source of life, and as the nucleus of creation and the entire civilization are elementary, but also make them vulnerable to health problems to which Ayurveda pays special attention.

The phases of life that Ayurveda distinguishes include the onset of menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, puerperium, lactation, and menopause. In all these phases, individual female organs are particularly challenged. Disturbances should be detected at an early stage and treated comprehensively.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • All problems related to menstruation (temporal irregularities, heavy bleeding, menstrual pain)
  • Issues related to infertility
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Vaginal pain during sexual intercourse
  • Infections of the vagina and cervix
  • Ovarian cysts and myoma
  • Premature menopause
  • Early menopause and pre-menopausal symptoms (for example, hot flashes, excessive sweating, sleep disorders, mood swings, metabolic disorders, excessive weight gain, depression, anxiety, loss of libido, loss of breast fullness)

Of course, we cannot and must not promise you that all these problems can be solved by Ayurvedic treatments. But we have received a lot of very positive feedback from our clients that a number of the complaints and problems described above are at least alleviated by our specially developed therapies.

You already know most of the treatments that are used for this if you have already been our guest. Detoxification, which is at the beginning of every cure, is just as much a part of it as stress reduction at all levels, herbal medicines, and comprehensive advice on how to prevent health risks by changing your life. In addition, there are special herbs-based medicines for internal and external use, which are prepared especially for you after a detailed diagnosis, and some additional forms of treatment such as sitz baths or special yoga exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor and thus counteract incontinence in particular.

In any case, we urgently ask our female guests to report all the above problems to our doctors comprehensively and without hesitation during the initial examination, so that they are taken into account in their therapy plan. In the case of rare or particularly serious diseases, there is also the possibility of consulting external specialists in Ayurvedic gynecology.
